Security
Bank of Bennington recognizes the importance our customers place on
privacy and the security of their personal information. Our goal is to
protect your personal information in every way that we interact with you,
whether it’s on the telephone, in our lobby, at one of our ATMs, or on the
Internet
Bank of Bennington has developed strict policies and procedures to safeguard
your personal information. We restrict employee access to your nonpublic
personal information to a “ need to know” basis. We maintain physical,
electronic, and procedural safeguard that comply with federal regulations to
guard your nonpublic personal information. We educate our employees about
the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy.
Passwords
To begin Internet Banking, customers must submit an Internet Banking
application that includes an Access ID and a Password. After first logon,
you will be required to change both the Access ID and Password. The Bank of
Bennington uses Multifactor Authentication which is an extra layer of
security for Internet Banking. Multifactor Authentication will provide an
image, then you will need to create a pass phrase and answer 3 challenge
questions. After the initial sign up, we will always show you your image and
pass phrase before asking for your password. If the predefined image is not
displayed during the logon process, please contact the bank. Our Internet
system uses a “3 strikes and you’re out” lock out mechanism. After three
unsuccessful login attempts, the system locks the user out, requiring a call
to the bank to reset the password.
Your transactions are protected by individual passwords. Bank of Bennington
does NOT know your password and Bank of Bennington will not send any account
information to your computer unless your Access ID and Password are correct.
Be sure to keep this password private. Do not share it with anyone. Memorize
it and do not store the Password on or near your computer. Change your
password frequently. Passwords must include letters, numbers, and cannot be
a word in the dictionary or based on user information. Remember to exit the
Internet browser when leaving the computer or when finished with your
banking transactions. For security purposes, Bank of Bennington online
sessions will automatically sign you off after 10 minutes of inactivity.
